Today I ventured out to the beach. It was the best thing I could have done, really amazing out there. Super windy & rainy... it doesn't happen too often here so when it does, it's a nice change of pace.
From top left to right: storm drain pouring into our ocean, dead fish I found on the rocks (this guy was about 4' long), the view from pb point, drainage pipe & a strange hole in the cliff, blossoming cactus, a metaphor, sun came out in La Jolla & beach rock (so beautiful).

Yes, the rumors are true. I'm moving to LA... the big moving day is this Sunday and next week I will officially be a resident of Los Angeles. So for now, I have stars in my eyes and "welcome to the jungle" in my ears.
Design above was created by Paul Hutchison of Hype Type Studio.

I'd like to give a big "shout out" to Trader Joes for hooking us up with all the banana boxes we could ever want for our move.
p.s. They'll be available for free via Craigslist next week if you're in LA and moving.

Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 1:09AM I just got back from a week long shoot in San Francisco. Man, what a great town that is. I was lucky enough to have a day off in the middle of the shoot to explore, catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and eat some amazing food. Thank you SF!
From left to right: Gus from Mollusk, Rob's pink sneakers (which make me want a tall glass of strawberry Nesquick), electric bus cables, wooden book installation, organic veggies at the farmers market, Zach Houston - street poet, origami in Japantown, fall leaves, Gus in dressing room.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 12:00AM After several months of work and anticipation I'm happy to announce the launch of Birds of a Feather Blog, a picture a day collaboration between myself and Sarah. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 8:56AM If you're in the San Diego area on Dec. 5th, you need to come by Subtext and check out the Happenstance show. It features some of San Diego's most talented photographers and proceeds from the event go to the Monarch school. See you there...

Friday, October 2, 2009 at 8:16AM A few months ago I shot Adam Shenkman and Ben Grubin of Hockey for the Heeb 100 issue of Heeb magazine. Every year for the Heeb 100 the editors put together a killer list of talent to produce the portraits. Among the photographers chosen this year were some of my favorites Chris Buck, Ryan Pfluger, & Elizabeth Weinberg. One of my shots of Adam is going to be in the traveling portrait exhibition (20 portraits out of the 100) starting tonight in NYC. Read below for more details. Go get your issue on newsstands today.
Heeb Magazine is pleased to present the fourth annual Heeb Hundred Portrait Exhibition at the 92Y Tribeca, New York. The Heeb Hundred is both a measure of where young Jews are today and a window into their future. The Heeb Hundred consists of the activists, artists and actors, musicians and movie-makers, comedians and creative-types, foodies and fashionistas, innovators and intellectuals that you need to know about.

Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 5:51PM Meet Rosie and Johnny Walker. I know, I couldn't believe it either but yes, his name is really Johnny Walker and he may or may not REALLY love his alcohol (I'm not judging). This chain smoking duo have enough stories to tell to keep you in their sweet-ass double wide for days. A couple facts about Johnny: he has 1 1/2 lungs, no teeth, and is beyond happy to have purchased his 1970 Ford LTD from CraigsList. He wanted to take me for a ride to show me the horse power but I reluctantly turned down the offer due to his "love of alcohol." Cheers, Johnny.
